Thank you for all the generous donations to YiBazi. We were blessed with our audits and professional works; we had little time to spend on online reading. We had since, stop taking in request for reading via email. We found that it is too taxing to response in writing. 

A Samaritan’s word, “…It is also not feasible for you to explain this in laymen terms for my easy understanding and even if you do, it might take pages and pages of emails.”, sums up our predicament regarding online reading. Most who wrote to us for consultations are enthusiast of BaZi. Therefore, a layman response may not be satisfactory without explaining how a conclusion is arrived at. This is almost like writing a book. 

I am personally, humbled to have met many well versed BaZi fans and friends. Thank you for your continuous supports and donations. 

For such, I take this opportunity to discuss a chart of a notable author of FengShui books, which is easily available, to discuss a simple and largely misunderstood topic – using a missing element.

This is technically a fake follower chart. There are only 2 elements in the chart, Water and Fire. If we only use the favorable gods, it means to say we have very little useful god to play with. The structure of the chart reveals the inclination towards greed. In the chart there is no wood to arbitrate. Luckily, entering JiaChen luck pillar, he is seen to have been writing a lot of books, public speeches and so forth. He is using output, which is not in his natal chart, to his advantages. It is not very surprising if you found the contents of his writing is of shallow and many are repeated contents. This has to stem from the overwhelming wealth structure that Gui person follows. Preparing for the arrival of GuiMao, a large tendency is he is diversifying into properties, with a farewell bid of early-retirement from the center stage – a reason for his student to write book on his behalves. This is one good example of how to use the element that is missing in the natal chart to one’s advantages.

Received a call from BingBazi (Yes, his blog may have been dead but his interest in BaZi is ever burning) reminded me that I may have overlooked something on the rules of a follower chart. That is the end of season, the day cannot follow. Reason, there is still residue of Qi strengthening the Self. However, there is still a catch. Master Ng, was cheekily telling me, just put up a postscript and say, Even though technically this chart looks like a follower chart, it cannot be a follower upon ONE very important factor - Chen month. The end of spring, wood Qi still has its root and Yi wood cannot follow... However, is this really a Chen month we are talking about? Is it really an end of spring we are talking about?

Well, he continues by saying, if you look at the structure of people born in the Wealth Month, assuming Chen is an Earth month, the classics assumed that he (strong daymaster) will bring good tiding for his dad in terms of prosperity. His biography recorded that he is liked Osama, was born into a rich family. Someone translated from the French, Dominique Strauss-Kahn Andre Gaston is the son of Gilbert Strauss-Kahn, legal and tax adviser and member of the Grand Orient of France, and Jacqueline Fellus, journalist of Russian descent and Tunisia. Born into a Jewish family who settled in Morocco in 1951, he grew up in Agadir. He finally left Morocco following the earthquake of Agadir in 1960, to Monaco. Now, how do you wish to read this chart? Weak or too weak that it becomes Strong? Perhaps, rewrite the classic? Master Ng will discuss more in the workshop.

My good buddy referred me to a English Forum of Chinese Metaphysics where the same chart was discussed, although I may not able to read the hidden texts. The lists go on to discussed on the loopholes up to 5 pages or more with many things contributed, sentiment thrown as though some master is going to be crucified and among others: -

1. First were the loopholes such as XinSi hour instead of BingXu. One forummer suggested that the hour of 11:10am in France. The True Solar Time is XinSi instead of RenWu. If it is RenWu, needless to say, it is a weak chart. His entire biography would have to be rewritten. Whereas XinSi, would have given a better matching to his biography, especially a follower chart. Now, if you read a possible Si You and Chou combination to metal, which is his “unfavorable” officer, you are able to gauge the possibility of a ploy to bring him down. The question is, will it be successful?

2. Fire as the useful gods. In many schools useful gods is always equals to favorable gods. However, we beg to differ. Unfavorable gods may also be of use. The question is how? Now assuming Fire as the useful gods in reflection to the day the incident happens, XinMao year, GuiSi month JiSi day and GengWu hour, where summer is only one component to the entire chart, it is not even strong enough to save the day. Thus, unlikely to strike out Fire as his favorable element. Any serious BaZi practitioner should also understand that singled out a season itself is not prudence where the entire day is affected by all the 4 pillars and not one. Therefore, the question of Is Output and Wealth star desirable remains certained for a follower chart even if the day and month when the incident happens are of fire Qi on reason that the day Qi must be read in totality.

3. The effect of Luck Pillar (LP) changing the basic characteristic of the strength of the chart. There are many schools of thoughts on this matter. However, the basic principle is, you cannot play football with changing goal posts. The correct explanation is the strength of the chart remains, however because of its lopsidedness, the incurred LP will make the chart off balance. What may seems to be favorable will unlikely to be so. However, if one is able to use the unfavorable elements to one's advantage, it may also save your day. That is why it is also a useful god. However the question remains is how? It may appears that some blog writer may not necessary explain such and that doesn't mean he/she is not aware of it. However, a chart cannot simply sometimes follow sometimes don't.

4. I appreciate the fact that the critiques from the forum does make an attempt to explain why Yi daymaster in Chen month cannot follow. I must agree to his postulation which sound, Wood born in end of Spring Chen month has Gui Water and Yi Wood Qi from remaining Mao Month and they remains even as graveyard and storage. Those from the Dominant Qi theory school may also agree on this unless if the daymaster is born in other seasons like Summer or Autumn Earth Month. In which case, one has to look into the hidden stems to qualify further. Therefore, Yi daymaster born in Chen month or Gui daymaster born in Chou and so forth cannot follow. However, only those who understand the nature of 1 in the branch is better then 3 in the stem theory would understand that there is exception to the rules. It is not secret, is just a different school of thought unlikely to be new age as well.

In summary, it is a good discussion and gutsy challenge with regards to investigating a real life case. As I am not granted access to the forum and mainly depends on feedback from my buddy, it will just be good for me to contribute my thought here meanwhile my view in this matter, as always, is subject to be corrected. As I congratulating both Singapore's BaZi practitioners of sparring in a gentlemen way, my view may have indirectly giving hints of so called "secret" techniques which is no longer a secret, as according to Master Ng and many forummers alike. There are just more layers in the chart worth investigating and I leave it to Master Ng to peel open in the coming workshop.

Dominique Strauss-Kahn SeX-capes

Classic example of Following Wealth where there is Money, there is HIM, befitting an IMF chief. However, it is not money that brings him fame but women. Othordox Chinese Worldview, woman equals wealth - a commodity. Since Wealth is favorable, why would he engross with Sexual Assault?

Common lead is XinMao annual pillar, triggering FanYin? One contributory factor as many follower charts alike, it is lopsided. His solid water pillar luck is not over as yet. Career Palace sees Heaven and Earth combines, seeking comfort in the expanse of his action where his peach blossom clashing outward as some may called it being "horny" and the nature of FanYin, his sudden impulse to seek sexual comfort has affected him, being in the position of power, he is caught with the pants down. There is always the harm effect between his desire and his action.

Question, how to derive such? 

1. Would a combination to resource taken place?

2. If resource transformed, why it happens?

3. What will be the nature of this chart meeting resource?

4. Would a combination to output also taken place?

5. Why would output be negative in a follower chart?

6. What is the harm signify?

7. What it means by spouse palace clashing out peach blossom?

8. Is his officer noblemen or ghost?

9. Others…

One of the challenges of reading BaZi is the ability to peel opens the chart and to look at it in many angles. Technicality on the rules of transformation and so forth is only one dimensional. As Master Ng common advice, if you do not strip naked the chart, you see nothing…

A Lost Of A Master

One of my masters in DaoFa (The Art of Mountain) has recently passed away. I owed much to him for the last favors he rendered were to initiate one of the altars for the Bodhisattva Manjushri and Samanthabrada, besides all the methods of ShenDao (Daoist Practice) he bestowed upon me. The initiation is an event worth remembering as the arrival of the spirits is reflected in the Xiang or imagery similar to the signs of QiMen, not able to be fabricated by man. Indeed, it was a great lost to myself and many more others, whose lives, he has helped to change for the better.

 

Death can occurred in the Good Luck pillar. The indications were a completed clashed or combined away of the useful Gods. In these instances it was a combination factors. For his fake following chart, when the combinations transformed into his self element, nothing is there to protect him, not even his protective Gods. The acute lopsidedness happened at the time of JiaYin, imagery foretold a ladder to heavens. He has a peaceful passing moment and he shows no sign of fatigue the very night before, while enjoying his last moment with the company of disciples and friends over supper. Combinations indicate among others, a peaceful passing away.

 

We prayed for him to attain the bliss of Nirvana and our condolences to his family and disciples at large. May he enjoy in the merits of our knowledge sharing, practice of Dao and good deeds. May all beings be well and happy, Sadhu, Sadhu, Sadhu.

Financial Issue - A Weak Or Another Follower Chart

This is the chart of the wife who is suffering from bad luck as mentioned in Yifengshui blog: When there is no warranty in a FengShui audit and I find it a little bit interesting as it can be read as a weak chart or a fake follower chart. Perhaps anyone out there may shed some lights?

Gui born in Wu (Summer), with Si,Wu Wei, forming the entire Summer seasons and Ding revealed. Overly powered by fire, thus making the chart imbalance. Too much fire.

So, for the Gui DM, this is a weak chart. It could also be a terribly weak chart that no amount of strengthening is able to arbitrate it. We sometimes call it a fake follower chart (special chart), but  the self rooted in the spouse palace. Can this be a fake follower chart?

Well, no wonder she is so capable to be easily conned by unscrupulous FengShui master because of her GuiHai day pillar. When will the GuiHai turns negative, that is the answer to its strength of the chart.

The Spirited Chart Of DongZhi

 

My friend BingBazi has been having a wonderful experience with the spiritual domains lately that he brought up some charts that is of interest in spiritually. Some of the questions that most obvious is as the followings: -

1. How do you see one has YinYang ability.
2. How do you know one has YinYang eye.
3. How do you know one is gifted in the art of metaphysics
4. How do you know one is a ghost buster
   

This chart belongs to someone I knew who has the YinYang ability. He is a Daoist Master (TianShi) and at times a FengShui master and also a Ghost Buster. 

 

One has the YinYang ability when Bing (the ultimate Yang) meets the Gui (the ultimate Yin) in the chart. These are what is called YinYang stars. The quality of the YinYang stars must therefore be further qualify, such as when Bing meets Gui, what does it portends? The GuiSi pillar at the month is so strong penetrating heaven and rooted on earth. His ability for the paranormal is extremely high. With 2 Gui protruding, that has also cost him dearly. Imagine how would the sun be when it is shrouded between clouds?

 

The Hai-Si clash is a strong indication of the crashing into the heaven's gate with again, the revealed of the Gui among others signifying spiritual entities. When the Li Gua imagery of Bing is among others rested among the heavenly clouds, he sees deities and demons. Very often he communicates with them to an instant he was accepted as a disciple to one of the Deity of very signification role in the Taoist Trinity. The Wu-Gui has the tendency to combine without transforming, indicating a strong affinity with the unseen world.

We often says that only the water day person can handle the art of metaphysics, because the art belongs to Fire. However, this is not necessary the case, as the art of metaphysics has the 5 elements where water and fire are the most obvious. For this very person, the chart follows authority, which is water. In his role as a Daoist and a medium, he finally found a niche for himself after many years of struggles with other ventures.

Being a strong 7Killing structure. That indicates his guts, among others to catch ghost and venturing into the realm of the paranormal. Strangely, we often said that a person must have a strong indirect resource in order to feel the vibes of the paranormal and yet no resource is seen in this person? Even without having Gui-Hai as his day pillar, he has managed to path the paranormal with ease, thanks to the month pillar. 

I take the opportunity of the arrival of the winter solstice, to wish all BaZi enthusiasts a happy DongZhi festival of TangYuan and family reunion besides the more happening Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year.

  

The Case Of A Double FuYin

This is another interesting chart.

Jia born in the end of winter. Will this end of winter be an earth month or a water month?

Note also, all the branches are graveyards not supporting the self, neither are the stems.

Technically, this is a follower's chart. Indeed if it follows wealth, then fire, metal and earth are favorable.

Now, comes 辛未 month, an accident happened to him that nearly cause his life. He is currently in the GengYin Luck Pillar.

Here, we notice a FuYin at the hour pillar with the month and the month pillar with the year. Would these crying events be of favorable? Best, would a follower chart ultimately follows?

Another Fake Follower Chart?

Is another Fake Follower chart season again. This time, will the fake followers really follow?

Ren water born untimely with no support from both heaven and earth. So this is a classic follower chart. With water revealed and rooted as a sub Qi in Chen, will this qualify as a fake follower?

Lets investigate further. Assuming a fake follower, making officer, wealth and output favorable.

She said, “My childhood (WuWu) was good did really well in school, had good friends, has lots of hobbies. Good relationship with extended family during this time…”

One perspective is, because there is no output in arbitration, her authority is “lousy”. However, because of the DE eclipse for her first 10 years matching her DE pillar in the natal chart, these “lousiness” has become very much less unfavorable. She could still be a fake follower.

She continued, “My teenage years and early 20s were not so good, that would be (Ding Si) Luck pillar. Moved to another country, has an eating disorder, my mother drove me crazy, could not decide what career I wanted for the longest time. Finally went to college for graphic design. Generally lot of instability and worry during this time. A lot of men wanted to date me, but I somehow picked the wrong type of guy.”

Ren is afraid of contamination, notably by Ji earth. During the solid fire pillar, such contaminations result in confusion especially coming from her mum as it involves her mother palace. Assuming a follower structure, the outcome is favorable.

She resumed, “Starting at age 26-27 (Bing Chen) everything got a lot more stable. I moved in with my boyfriend and we have our own apartment. I got a job doing graphic design, very close to home, the people are nice and they seem to like me and appreciate my work. It is a little boring at times, not enough variety and challenge. My boyfriend is nice and loving, but he does not have any money. He works hard, but is irresponsible, spends too much and never remembers to pay his bills on time. I feel that he has to be monitored like a little child and I don't have any desire/ability to control someone else. He can be impatient and sometimes has bad temper. I met him when I was 20, we broke up after 2 years, then got back together 3 years later. I considered leaving him many times. He asked me to marry him, I don't know if I want to do that. I don't want to leave him either.”

First, there is a Chen-Chen self punishment at the spouse palace. Then there is a Ren-Bing clash. So, it tells the story of learning to live together is a greater “self-inflicted” task. They will consolidate their differences and live happily ever after although not without a roller coaster ride, given a follower chart.

She concluded by saying, “My relationship with my mother got really bad when I was growing up. Now it got a little bit better, but I still don't like her and would rather not visit her if I can help it. My dad is cold and indifferent and I never had any type of "relationship" with him. He is generous, but any time he had any intentions of giving me money (when I was a teenager) my mother quickly put a stop to it. She is very controlling. He only started doing really well financially when I was an adult. My relationship with my sister and brother is very good.”

Her mother is always there for her although her actions may be seen over controlling. That is the nature when a fake follower lacked output, having a wealth in her mother palace. At the end, it means well for her. Similarly to her father, with a lack of “relationship” due largely to the DE. No doubt, her relationship with her sibling is good, there is a tendency for a Mao Chen harm, which among others leading to some rotten relationship between her spouse with her siblings.

In summary, a fake follower does follow. Do you think otherwise?

A Case Of A Childless Couple

There has been many questions related to wealth, health and career. Lwee has been instrumental in providing cases relating to health. Currently I was reading a case about childless couple that I wish to share. Attached is his request:-

Request:
My wife and I are childless, due to two miscarriages. Are we fated not to have a child? Even adopting (illegal way) many years ago met with obstacles ie. the authorities were clamping down on the activity. We, especially me, occasionally get depressed of the current (childless) state we are in.

Perspective:
Born Yi wood at the end of autumn season. Not supported by Earth and neither is supported by Heaven. Technically speaking, this is a true follower chart, favoring fire and earth. Most fear of resource, water and self, wood. Authority could have been favorable, but because there is another output that will eventually keep his authority at bay, unless wealth is there to arbitrate, but is not seen. Heavenly clash of Bing and Ding and earthly harm in Xu and You among the self, parents, ancestor and children palace summarized part of the reasons of being childless and emotional stress that reach beyond the couple and also the immediate family.

Investigating the children star, for a Yi male, authority star among others represents children. Noted that the Heavenly clash of Bing and Geng. Another clash of Bing and Geng occurred making it a three tier whammy. These are seen. The unseen revealed harm into the marital palace making childlessness an issue between the couples with their family especially the mother. Xu and You harm usually denotes physical or bodily harm, because it is unseen, there are implications that in the anxiety of getting a child, intake of food or practices, through a slow process may have affected the miscarriage.

As this is shown in the natal chart, it is a difficult to break the spell, although he may try again in the GengYin luck and XinMao luck, although he must be wary that it is another FuYin for both luck pillars affecting the children star and self. As to why a preference is given to a metal stem, is that the authority star is revealing. Unfortunately, there are again, obstacles – FuYin.

FuYin, is known as crying event. Liked BaZi Diary experienced from his wife’s chart revealing through his blog, “…There was a FuYin in my wife’s chart – but I didn’t expect that it would mean losing a dear friend…” the gravity could sometime be heavy. So, stepping into his shoe, I would not take the risk although through some FengShui help, the crying event would actually mean he would finally have his own child!

Because metal to him is not favorable, no point taking the risk.

Conclusion:
What would one suggest to make this person to have his own child or is this the end of the road?

PostScript: A harm in the home conditions, for a FengShui master's concerns and perspective also indicate a foregoing FengShui problem affecting the household. Most likely in the SanHe view, it indicates that the water is exiting at Conception (Tai) palace.

A Fake Follower That Refuse To Follow?

In one of the commentary to the tread http://yibazi.blogspot.com/2009/07/another-fake-follower.html, MYL has requested for a reading of a female chart that is seen as a fake follower chart as the followings: -

“… Please kindly confirm that my diagnosis of the following chart as fake follower is correct?
Year: Gui Mao
Month: Ding Si
Day: Gui Chou
Hour: Yi Mao
I understand that the favourable elements become Fire and Wood?...”

Technically speaking, Gui self born in Si month, not in season. Not supported by the branches neither are the stems with a small exception of Gui, at the year pillar. Because Gui is not rooted at all, it can be construed as a fake follower chart, following summer season which is wealth. So her favourable elements are fire, earth and wood. All the presumably negative stars become positive. Here we shall match her life path to determine does a fake follower really follow.

[MYL Quote]: I did ask her to give me a bit more insight of her life. I have also known her for some years now and she has generously let me practice on her chart while I am struggling to make sense of what I had read on BaZi! She told me that she was born overseas (country 1) and spent her earlier years there. The family move back to the parent homeland (country 2) when she was about 7 or 8 where she started to learn new language and new custom at new environment. But she does not think that it is stressful to her, she said may be it is stressful for her parent but since she is too young to know any better, she does not think that it is a bad period for her. The family was not rich but she was well provided for within reason.

[DY Response]: Rendering her coming of luck to be WuWu, the revealed earth is generally favourable to her. There is a harm at her palace of home conditions which affecting her authority, here generally means she needs to learn a new custom and a new language. The classics note that this is called the temperamental harm, among others signify the lack of patient and small anxiety. But she may be too young to recognise as something serious.

[MYL Quote]: At the final year of Ji Wei period (1990) she obtained foreign country scholarship (country 3) where she met her husband, married and settle down there now. She had some hard time to obtain employment during the early year after she had moved to the new country but she got something eventually and so during her Geng Shen and Xin You periods, she thinks she had an average luck as well. So it seems her life has been quite comfortable since childhood until now.

[DY Response]: JiWei solid earth pillar, authority revealed and rooted, she got married. That is natural. However, when the solid metal luck comes in as her resource star, will that be still comfortable for a weak follower chart that disliked to be strengthened? Here, the fake follower does not want to follow?

One perspective states that the season of summer weakened the negative resource of her luck pillar, providing yet another line of defence. That is where it is just another mixed luck, average.

Another perspective states that when the resource revealed, if it is a real follower chart, the effects will be detrimental as the structure will be broken. However for a fake follower, it will be read as a weak chart. So the fake follower cannot follow and the self find itself surrounded by negative stars.

[MYL Quote]: Luck started to turn in 2006 during her mid Xin You Period, her father fell and broken a leg, an arm and pelvic and while waiting at hospital for operation suffered a stroke which paralysed the other leg. She herself had a health scare during this period, which makes her to let go of her employment. She had been given a clean bill of heart now but her father just had another operation last July and she is wondering whether there is a light at the end of the tunnel as she is about to enter her Ren Xu and Gui Hai cycles.

[DY Response]: Did not have a chance to look at the starting and ending year for her luck pillar but from a reverse engineering, 2006 BingXu and subsequent, these movements of the earthly branches make a health scare out of her and metal luck is not consider to be favourable either. Generally the challenging time ahead should have been the metal and water lucks. Since she survived the metal luck period which is by degree is much detrimental then the water luck and at these age, health will generally be an issue. One will have to narrow in to take care of the particular years with her negative stars revealing particularly water and metal with clashes and combinations that may combine away or clashes away her useful gods.

The Fake Follower Chart Of Miss Blue River

Some times ago, Bazi Diary has been informing me that he is doing about 2 – 3 BaZi reading daily when he put up his blog. These are very encouraging as a platform to refine the skill required. Although we came from different school of thought, although not entirely, I am surprised that no matter what method used be it imagery or otherwise, the conclusions are similar and if not, some times, the same. Rarely do we dispute on the techniques and this has proven that the spirit of sharing is of paramount important in this art of metaphysics. Of such, I also take the opportunity to thanks Lwee, Shi Xiang and Mr. Anonymous who contributed unreservedly towards the fruitful discussion on this blog. If one is sharp enough, there are lots of gold nuggets that can be found in these discussions owing to the fact that most of us here did spend a huge fortune to learn these arts, and some contributors were conscious not to reveal too much for fear of going against their own school’s predicaments, which I believed, will dilute by the passage of time. Our ancestors have ways to make the message across. The only humble request, I would greatly appreciate if the anonymous contributors would leave a pseudonym or nickname, so that I can address him/her by a name rather then anonymous, as the one who named is the mother of the myriad things in Dao.

Last week, I received an email of a lady, wish to be known as Blue River, to have her chart read in this blog as an academic exercise rather then a paid reading. These are her request, “… after paying SGD130 for a Zi Wei Dou Shu consultation. I was given certain career -related advice which, if I were to follow it, requires me to switch to a totally different industry. Apparently, the industry I am currently in, i.e. real estate is completely unsuitable for me!

I am looking for a second opinion using Bazi as this is a major life decision. As such, I would like to seek your help to perform an online Bazi analysis for me.

Date of Birth : 30 Nov 69.

Time 17:30.

Born in Singapore.

Female.

…If it's not too much trouble, would you also be able to comment on the marriage aspect? I was told by the ZWDS master that any relationship I start now will end in 2011/2012 even though the person will treat me very well. I forgot to ask him how the result would end, whether the other partner is the one who initiates it or am I the one to do so. Is there any way to tell that from Bazi? The other question is career-related, ie. is real estate industry bad for me and which industry should I be in. Also will I be able to run a business and when is the best time to start one?”.

In summary her requests were: -

Should one advise her to have a career change?

Should one advise her to start a relationship now, if not when?

When is the best time for her to run her own business?

Let’s start the ball rolling, she is a Ji earth person born in winter Hai month, not supported by stems and branches except for a Ji stem protruding at the year pillar. Can she be qualified as a weak chart or a fake follower chart? If she is a fake follower, following wealth, that makes all the elements around her favourable, except for herself. She could well be a of a good pedigree, running on, unfortunately, corrugated roads (luck).

She has a career in real estate, meaning in the industry that earth element prevailed. I supposed her scope of works is estate agent, meaning water elements, which is to her is wealth. Being an estate agent is liked salesmanship, for her case, would preferred output, but was not revealed in her natal chart. Apparently these make her task being challenging. The good thing is she has good authority stars that will weaken her further. It is very easy to jump into conclusion and ask someone to just change industry, but this is not our lives. She is 40 years plus, re learning again is not as easy as control-alternate-delete. I would suggest her to make good use of the remaining luck pillars and make good use of her positive elements. She will be entering her GengChen luck pillar by 2010, which is good leveraging on the output. This may have been good luck to her. Subsequently, starting on her own may also been beneficial.

It will be ideal if there is a wood star in her spouse palace and in this case a metal. Ambiguity On The Strength Of The Self

ShiXiang of http://artoflifez.blogspot.com/ has selflessly contributed a lot on the art of deciphering BaZi the structural manner instead of the imagery manner. He has acquired such knowledge almost without much investment, thus he is able to share what he learnt via his blog and I find it very informative indeed. Such a noble task is worth praising. I take notice of the manner in which the self (some called the day master) is categorised as strong or weak. I put aside the debates of the need to identify the strength of the self for some other time and just narrow down to the manner of which it is categorise.

The first principle is to determine the self is born: -

In the season that supports the self (some called it as in season),

Supported by the Heavenly Stem (HS) (some called in location),

Supported by the Earthly Branch (EB) (some called in formation).

If either 2 out of the 3 conditions are fulfilled, the self is known as a strong self and a strong self will need to be weakened. Whereas, a weak self will need to be strengthened. Kindly note that this method is not what has been advocated by an academy that instantaneously qualifies the self as strong when the self is born in season as many real case studies shown otherwise.

Special cases were reserved for the followings: -

The storages and graveyards of the Earth months,

The extremely weak self,

The extremely strong self,

The transformation of the supporting HS or EB. However, now every combination will transform and changes into the transformed elements just liked the saying, not all marriages will produce offspring.

Let’s look at this example: -

Ren self born in the month of Yin where wood is prosperous and water is weakened. This person is not born in season. One look at the formation, none of the EB supports the self whereas in the location, only Geng, resource is supporting the self. We have 3 conditions that fulfilled the criteria that this Ren person is a weak chart.

Hold on a second, because there is only one element that is supporting can we considered it an extremely weak chart some called a fake follower chart? Theoretically when a resource is found or revealed in the HS it does not qualify as a fake follower chart because this resource will feed the self and not allowing the self to follow other strong elements in the chart.

A closer examination of the Geng HS as the resource is being clashed away by Bing. Will the clash weakened the resource? First, the resource is not rooted and second, metal is trapped during spring season. In this condition, will the self lose its much needed resource to break away from a mare weak chart to an extremely weak follower chart? Here, the operative clash mechanism will need to be understood.

This chart belongs to a male. If we read it as a weak chart, it means difficult paths lay ahead of him otherwise if it is read as a follower chart, it means he will make it big in the future. How would you see if this was the case?
