Cancer Of The Nostrils

This is the chart of a good friend of mine whom I knew since the schooling days. He is now 47 years of age. He was diagnosed of having cancer of the nostrils in early 2006, which was still technically yi-you year then. He entered the negative ren-zi LP since 2001.

This chart is similar to the previous eyes problem case in many ways.

We shall again begin our analysis from the strength of the DM.

1st criteria : strong - wei is summer season since ding is in the stem (month stem).
2nd criteria : weak - yin against chen and chou.
3rd criteria : strong - jia and ding (month stem) against ren.
Note that ding-ren does not transform because it is not supported by the summer season.

Overall : 2 strong against 1 weak makes him a strong ding DM.

Just like the previous chart, the chou-wei earth clash will release all the negative stars of water, wood and fire when activated since these 3 negative stars are protruding in the stems. Again, water stars strengthen the wood stars and the wood stars strengthen the fire stars which also take roots in the wei month branch. So, this chart is also overload with the end product of the negative fire stars which causes this chart to be off balance.

As for timing, you should be able to tell why ren-zi LP is bad compared to the previous xin-hai LP and all his earlier LPs. Perhaps, the 2 dings in the middle of the chart give the image of the nostrils.

I really pray and hope that he will recover soon. He has 5 children and the eldest is only 16 years old. I remember one wise man said before: "Health is the greatest Wealth; Contentment is the greatest Happiness".

Hello Lwee,

Part me questioning your wisdom, I am sure you are right but for my benefit would you please elaborate on why is it that there are different interpretations on whether the combination will transform or not during certain month or season?

For example, in this case, you said “Note that ding-ren does not transform because it is not supported by the summer season.” On the other hand, in Shi Xiang’s Zi Ping commentary Chapter 5 – In discussing the combination of Heaven Stem Part 1, there it is stated that on “The sixth month of Wei, Ding Ren will transform into wood. (Wei as the bank of wood, thus can transform)”

Thank you for a great blog, I am absolute hooked to the core.

Your dedicated follower.

hi,

Ren is the Guan Star. Ding Of self sitting at Chou, while DIng of Friend is sitting at Wei which is rooted. It seems his friend outdrive him in everything.

Most of his merit and achievement is "hijack" by his friend indirectly?

- Ren Ding combine and not transform.
-Ren combine with friend Ding instead of Self Ding.

The material I'm having now indicate "can"... Correction in my previous posting.

Hi All,

Apparently, my take is similar to Lwee. It will not transform. This all boils down to the notorious Earth elements which appear in all seasons. The question is always when do one consider earth season as earth elements and not the other four elements? I am sure, there are well informed people out there that could enlighten all pertaining to the notorious Earth.

Perhaps Chris or ShiXiang could contribute?

Cheers and good write up from Lwee.

Hi anonymous friend,

From my understanding, ding-ren can only transform into wood stars if the season is either water or wood season.

In my opinion, the yi wood in the storage of wei is not strong enough to support any transformation.

Point to ponder : Can ding-ren turn into wood stars in summer?

Regards, Lwee.

Hello again,

Thank you all for the insight given. From my questions you will note that I am still a novice in this fascinating field. My next question is does the month branch dictate all combinations to decide whether they will transform or not? Does the LP and AP branch has any influence at all?

If LP and AP branch does not have any influence at all, it is really ‘scary’, because basically it indicates that BaZi will rule out any possibilities of change? Am I right in forming this assumption?

Thanks and gratitude.

Anonymous,

Ah from your question, you sound to be a pro as well.

The month branch, beside the day master, is one of the very important element in any given chart.

The LP and AP branches also has their roles. The question is perhaps ShiXiang can enlightened all pertaining to these roles from his resources. I beg, many schools will intepret these differently and it will be subjected to much debate.

I wouldn't say it is scary. If everythings transform that will be even scarier!

Cheers

hi,

In Luo Liang book, earthly branch from LP and AP can trigger the transformation in the heaven stem. For example the Xin and Bing initially can't transform in the chart, but when arrive water branch from LP/AP, Xin Bing will turn water. When Xin Bing turn water, it can trigger Shen Si/ Shen Zi Chen in the formation of the chart into water. Cross triggering sometimes deliver "better" message... i think.

Hi all,

From what Lwee said, it seems that he justify the earth month by looking at which element protruding in the stem.

In this case, since ding reveals in the stem, then wei month becomes fire season.

However, Wei as yin di zhi, can pair up with four other yin tian gan besides ding such as xin, gui, ji, and yi.

My question is: how about if no ding, no ji, and no yi (hidden stem in Wei), but gui and xin that revealed in the stem? How to identify what season of wei in that case?

Thank you.

Hi anonymous,

For natal chart stems transformation, look at the month branch for support. For LP stem with natal chart stem, also look at the month branch for support.

For AP stem with natal chart stem, look at LP branch for support. For AP stem with LP stem, also look at LP branch for support.

Regards, Lwee.

Hi R,

If there is no fire star protruding in the year, month or hour stems, then the wei month branch is considered as the earth season.

If the month pillar is a block of earth (ie. ji-wei), then it is also earth season even though there is fire star in the year or hour stem.

Hi Lwee,

Thanks for answering my previous question.
Another question:

How about branch combination in the natal chart? If one has shen, zi, chen san he water frame, but no ren or gui on the stem in his/her natal chart, does this combination will transform when he enters Ren or Gui LP or AP?

Regards.

Yes it was deleted. I found that the time of birth wasn't accurate and almost force fitted, so I took it off.

Lwee said...

Yes, shen-zi-chen will transform when gui or ren appears but the month branch must be either water or metal star.

Regards.

Obviously weak daymaster meeting DO luck pillar and getting the cancer at an autumn year which enhance Ren Zi water. 2001,2002,2003 he was fine, 2004 there is Jia which can save Ding, although Shen Yin will clash but there is Ren water.

2005 Yi You get cancer in Chou month. Both deplete Ding DM.

This chart can't be strong when the wood can't produce fire DM. The season of birth isn't favorable to hour pillar Jia, it is dead or dry Jia despite sitting on bank of water.
