Missing Element

Thank you for all the generous donations to YiBazi. We were blessed with our audits and professional works; we had little time to spend on online reading. We had since, stop taking in request for reading via email. We found that it is too taxing to response in writing. 

A Samaritan’s word, “…It is also not feasible for you to explain this in laymen terms for my easy understanding and even if you do, it might take pages and pages of emails.”, sums up our predicament regarding online reading. Most who wrote to us for consultations are enthusiast of BaZi. Therefore, a layman response may not be satisfactory without explaining how a conclusion is arrived at. This is almost like writing a book. 

I am personally, humbled to have met many well versed BaZi fans and friends. Thank you for your continuous supports and donations. 

For such, I take this opportunity to discuss a chart of a notable author of FengShui books, which is easily available, to discuss a simple and largely misunderstood topic – using a missing element.

This is technically a fake follower chart. There are only 2 elements in the chart, Water and Fire. If we only use the favorable gods, it means to say we have very little useful god to play with. The structure of the chart reveals the inclination towards greed. In the chart there is no wood to arbitrate. Luckily, entering JiaChen luck pillar, he is seen to have been writing a lot of books, public speeches and so forth. He is using output, which is not in his natal chart, to his advantages. It is not very surprising if you found the contents of his writing is of shallow and many are repeated contents. This has to stem from the overwhelming wealth structure that Gui person follows. Preparing for the arrival of GuiMao, a large tendency is he is diversifying into properties, with a farewell bid of early-retirement from the center stage – a reason for his student to write book on his behalves. This is one good example of how to use the element that is missing in the natal chart to one’s advantages.

A Perfect Chart For A Perfect Workshop

A BaZi connoisseur wrote to Lenny, “I have been given a much-appreciated reading by a member of a BaZi forum recently. He said my Four Pillars was near 'Perfect' and that I would eventually find someone with a similarly pure structure as my partner. It has made me very happy…” 

Being elevated, Lenny pass the chart for me to take a look. Well, not very often would you get a glimpse of a near perfect chart, if it ever existed. What caught my attention was a synchronicity of Bing-Xin combination which happened to be coincidentally similar with the last ZPZQ classics commentary. Well, there must be a purposeful coincident for such, even with the upcoming workshop on BaZi, I shall reserved the “interesting part” for Master Ng to expose. 

Entry level, one has to qualify the strength of this chart by looking at the month Xu. Is this an earth month or a metal month to start with? So, which is which? Even more interesting, Yin Wu and Xu, the entire fire frame in the branch – would it transform? Is this a summer Qi instead? Wei and Wu combines to form fire, again. Would it transform? Here combines and there combines, which one take precedent over the other?

None of the stem or the branch supports the Self with the exception of Yin branch at year pillar. It is rooted there. Strong enough not to qualify as a follower chart? Even more interesting, Bing and Xin combines to form water, nourishing Jia and thus disqualify itself as a follower chart. Would that be the case? Can Bing and Xin transform in the first instance?

It is a very interesting chart indeed. Student of QuanYuan would understand the questions I raised and the answers are obvious if you have enough practice. If you know the answers to these questions, then I am sure you will get something more from the coming workshop. Saying thus, if you do not know: -

An Invitation From Master Ng

Once again we would like to invite ALL OF YOU to our coming BaZi Workshop. Yes, Master Ng has personally invites all previous QuanYuan BaZi Workshop participants to attend. Moreover, he hoped that you had given yourself enough time to polish your skill and this coming workshop would be a refresher course to everyone alike. 

Speaking to our first batch of students, you would realize that a repeated session is so much more interesting. The contents may be the same but because you have emerged yourself with different scenario, via personal efforts, questions, the forum, even direct communications with Master Ng, you will begin to see more things and understand the instruction better. Master Ng is very proud of our diligent students who often email him “difficult” chart, even though it is not in the syllabus. At least he knows that these batches of students are diligently upgrading their experiences and skills to another level. For the benefits of all, he may discuss such in the workshop.

More importantly, it is the spirits of QuanYuan not concealing the fact reserved for another module that Master Ng is so much willing to share. We must admit that his correspondence with all students would be different according to his discretion of each and every student’s performance and understanding. It is always this fact of being personally involved and personal guidance that is so much absent in other schools, that has left a mark in QuanYuan in building a line of succession of responsible and competent practitioners. Imagine Master Ng has personally, make trips as far as Singapore or invite students for further tutorial in his premises without even collecting a single fee to that effect.

That is the spirit of QuanYuan we are trying to preserve even it does not make commercial sense at all. This coming workshop, the installation for previous students would be slightly different. You would just have to enroll to find out. Saying thus, all invited students would be offered to joint our year end FengShui workshop. As in this workshop, we will reveal to our students real life cases of QuanYuan with emphasis of cases brought about by our students and the impact that has been brought about. You would not imagine how spot on it is as revealed by the student’s very own BaZi matches the FengShui formations in the student’s abode. 

We would not reveal any more other than to advise our students to be mentally prepared for the staggering experiences of Master Ng’s extravaganzas of reaping the BaZi chart open. We are very sure that our student has experienced such beforehand and as far as we know, never, never and never has any master dare to reveal all. The only reservation he has is the matter of life and death, which Heaven forbids. Due to the intricacies of the contents, students are not allowed to voice record such. It must be remained within the 4 walls of the workshop. This is the Karmic condition one must not break.

One way to translate such verse:

丙辛合而不化，无丙可用辛制甲，无辛可用丙化甲，两皆有用，因合而两失其用也。

This combination of Bing and Xin cannot transformed, with the absent of Bing can be used

Xin to counter Jia, with the absent of Xin can use Bing fire to exhaust Jia, both are usable, however, the combination of both, fail to be used.

What is this phrase trying to say?

Let’s look at the fundamental. Wu person born in spring, technically a weak chart. Bing and Xin tendency to combine. It is said that this combination does not transform into water. There is no further explanation as to why it does not transform. However it does attempt to show the concept of ‘fail to be used’. It should have been read: - 

When Bing and Xing cannot transform into the third element, because of Bing, Xin cannot counter Jia. So, Xin is failed to be used.

When Bing and Xing transformed into the third element, because of Xin, Bing cannot exhaust Jia. So, Bing is failed to be used.

Even saying thus, ‘fail to be used’ is just a notion to state if it transforms, it does what. If it doesn’t it does what.

Just for some introductions to things to come, how do you ascertained that a person's house is sited in accordance to a certain structure, based on the BaZi of the person himself? That is simple if you follow the following rules. Before that one will need to be familiarized with the following terms.

Structure of a house is defined as what made up a house. Just liked in construction, we said the structure of the house is made of structural reinforced concrete, meaning the house is constructed mainly of reinforced concrete posts and beams. However, in FengShui the structure of the house is related to the house sitting in within stipulated formations in relation to the external environment. The external environment means the natural formations of mountain and water within the vicinity of the said house. It must be natural and not manmade. Ideally that is where the terms the four guardian paying attention comes to play, meaning an ideal environment should have a complete parent mountain, embrace and a table mountain to protect the open space in front of the said house called the bright hall. This structure will then determine how the house should be sited. The classics say the structure established facing and this is what it meant.

From a person's BaZi, it is very easy to recognize the house location that is in sync with the person's affinity. Let say he is a RenShen person, taking the Day pillar of his BaZi. Well, the textbook out there illustrated what this Ren water person may be and the characteristic of the water person would not like to be polluted especially with Ji earth or wet earth. So, he will shun low laying area. He would prefer to be controlled by Wu earth or huge dry earth. So he has the tendency to choose higher ground to live in. The illustration can go on and on? However, this is what is called STEREOTYPING in profiling using BaZi. 

Again, let say he is born in Xu month or the end of autumn with Ji earth protruding. Technically we called this Ren person born in the Earth season and his BaZi structure is Officer or Authority Structure. Reason is earth controls water in the 5 elements study. This is also sometime called Influence Star Structure. What it meant is this person has the tendency to be influential and he has the tendency to choose house sitting Earth elements according to the 24 mountain of the LuoPan, coincides with the hypothesis of the above said paragraph. This is again STEREOTYPING in profiling using BaZi. 

Stereotyping using BaZi can sometimes be misleading. To make matter worse, the method of taking measurement in establishing sitting differs from one school to another. Some take the sitting direction of the house while other takes the sitting direction of the Main Door. So which method is correct? Our practice has given us a consistency in determining the correct sitting of a house in relation to a person's BaZi? NOT in accordance to a stereotypical manner. Just think about it, even in taking a simple reading as in establishing sitting and facing could be wronged, how could one do FengShui? In our case, the BaZi tells it all.
